Given these extraordinary and often surreal circumstances accompanying the COVID-19 pandemic and the closure of local schools, Junior Achievement of San Diego County (JA San Diego) has halted several of our popular programs (e.g. McGrath Family BizTown, Mission Fed JA Finance Park, etc.) but we are determined to continue support working families - and teachers - with enrichment that our suddenly stay-at-home students need now more than ever.
Just as our school districts work tirelessly to provide relevant lessons and curriculum to families, JA San Diego is now offering Common Core-aligned curriculum and learning resources, virtually, for teachers and direct to parents. 33 of 43 school districts in San Diego County partner with JA and have done so for more than 50 years.
Of course, closures caused by COVID-19 significantly impact JA, just as it's hurting so many in our community. And while we remain committed to absorbing the costs related to providing educational resources during these uncertain times, we continue to need your support. As we work to virtually connect students to industry and their futures in the "real world" through lessons in financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship, please consider making a contribution today!
