Students and young adults are eligible for hundreds of scholarship to support them in their future success, and JA San Diego wants to be a resource in creating awareness of these opportunities. There are lots of scholarship opportunities out there, but it can be hard to know where to start looking. Below you will find scholarships being offered by local companies and organizations. 2022 LPL Financial Community Scholarship Program: LPL Financial believes that education is key to every child’s future, and wants to empower young people to achieve their life’s aspirations. This scholarship is open for high school juniors who will be completing or leaving high school and entering college in the fall of 2022. $1,000 scholarship recipients are selected based on their academic and leadership achievements. 2022 Scholarship Applications Open for Aspiring Water Pros: If you’re a student considering college studies leading to a career in the water and wastewater industry, several California water associations and San Diego regional member water agencies offer college scholarships. The City of San Diego Promise Zone group is recruiting for AmeriCorps VISTA positions: AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) is a national program that works to alleviate poverty nationwide. Nordson BUILDS Scholarship: The mission of Nordson BUILDS is to attract and develop a diverse, highly-skilled talent pool for careers in the manufacturing industry. It is designed to help bright and motivated students access and complete postsecondary education by lessening the financial barriers of enrolling in college for many, and decreasing the loan burden for individuals that apply for financial aid. The SD Foundation offers over 100 scholarships to students: The San Diego Foundation Community Scholarship program provides scholarship opportunities for local students to helppursue their educational goals and achieve their higher education dreams. High school students are eligible to receive $1,000 and above through many opportunities in the Community Scholarship Program by filling out just one application. The Taco Bell Live Más Scholarship: This program helps students ages 16-26, pursue their educational goals and career aspirations – no matter what their unique passion. The Live Más Scholarship empowers the next generation of leaders to ignite change in their communities and beyond. This scholarship is for students planning on or currently attending a 4-year university, community college or a 2-year vocational school. $75k available in scholarships from Cox Charities: Cox Charities is offering $75,000 in college scholarships to high school seniors in the San Diego area. The Cox Scholars scholarships range from $2,500 to $5,000. Recipients must be a 2021 graduating high school senior living in Cox’s Southern California service area. KPMG Future Leaders Program: The KPMG Future Leaders Program is a charitable initiative focused on developing future generations of women leaders. Funded by proceeds from the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and KPMG Women’s Leadership Summit, the KPMG Future Leaders Program annually awards 22 top female high school seniors the opportunity to enhance their personal growth through college scholarships, a leadership development retreat, mentorship, and an introduction to golf. The program’s main purpose is to help these young women continue to build a strong foundation and instill the confidence and leadership ability they need to succeed in college and ultimately in their long-term careers.
