VIRTUAL Mission Fed JA Finance Park Summer Camp

Is your child ready for what's after high school?!? Work, college, buying a car... we will get them ready for their future in the "real world"! Each day will start with a group Zoom call with your fellow campers then will branch off into smaller groups for lessons and fun activities. We will tie it all together at the end of the day with a group Zoom call. Part of the program will include a week long solo project that will inspire and encourage them for successful futures.

Grade: 6th-8th graders
Session Dates: July 7th-10th, July 14th-17th, July 21st-24th, July 28th-31st
Time: 10:00am-2:00pm
Cost: $55/camper

Here's what your virtual week will look like with new activities every day:

  • Tuesday we will Discover who YOU are! We’ll be working on personality quizzes and self-assessments, exploring career clusters and education tracks with a focus on saving for education.
  • Wednesday will be their Job Hunt day! We’ll be working on resumes, interview skills (good and bad), and learning what employers are looking for in a candidate.
  • Thursday will be their Reputation day!  We’ll cover social media and branding, how to protect their reputation, credit and financial empathy.
  • Friday will be Budgeting day! We’ll learn how to be smart with money, how to budget, taxes, voting, and finish with a presentation of each campers' solo project along with a costume party!

*Each day will include a specific session of the virtual simulation with a finish on Friday.

Each camper will be supplied with a kit that will include all materials necessary for the program including a professional career skills portfolio, team designation, and fun craft items for their solo week long project.
